Day 11

Image
Day Eleven 1:30 PM: Today I began working right when I woke up at 9 AM. I wanted to finalize both designs on Canva. I also wanted to make one or two more designs using the skills I had learned. Canva is hard to use, as it makes posting your design complex. I worked on finalizing these designs for about three hours. From around 9-12. This completed the hours I needed and I could work on the slideshow. As well as the three-page paper for the rest of the day until I needed to return to Proctor. This brought my total hour count to 51 hours. Added to the 24 hours I missed due to surgery, I now have all 75 hours completed!

Weekly Review 2

Weekly Review 2: This week was much busier than my first week. After I had recovered from surgery. I got straight back to work. I worked on a multitude of things throughout the week. Such as my Canva designs. Film study and breakdowns. My 3-page paper. As well as my slideshow for Wednesday’s presentations! Overall a much better and more productive week than week one!      I got most of my first Canva design done and finalized the 2nd one on May 23rd. I also got only around one or two games of the film done, as It took a lot longer than expected to be able to get them done. For each play, it took me around 5 or so minutes to determine the correct formation and find the correct play. Meaning it took me lots of time to complete a single drive, let alone an entire game. For some plays that I didn’t know, I would just leave it blank. It made it even more difficult to decipher when the formations and plays had errors in them, as then I was looking for a formation that did not exist.      Ove

Day Ten

Image
Day Ten 6 PM: Today I woke up at 9. I had some issues with my knee, as it has a rash around the incision. This made it difficult to focus on work as it was probably the itchiest thing I have ever experienced. Wow, it’s so bad. I got some film work done, I finished most of a game but struggled with some of the formations I was unfamiliar with. I also worked more on my Canva designs. I also began to create my slideshow for the showcase on Wednesday. I worked from around 9-1, and then 2-4. Working around six hours today. Bringing my total hour count to 48 hours.

Day 9

Day Nine 6 PM: Today I woke up at around 9. I began my work at around 10 and worked until 12:50. I had to leave for my PT appointment at 1. Today's PT appointment had a lot more exercises and my knee was really getting worked hard. So once I was back at around 2, I had to ice it for awhile. I then began to work again at 3. I then worked until 6. Today was mostly film related, but I also scoured Instagram again to look for more ideas for Canva. As my designs were still pretty boring. Today hours come out to around 6 hours again. Bringing my total hour count to 42 hours!

Day Eight

Day Eight 5 PM: Today I woke up at around 9 again. I was able to begin work at 10 and worked until 1. I then took a short break, as I relaxed for a bit and did most of my exercises for my knee. I need to keep it active in order for it to not become stiff so I need to take breaks from my work often. I then picked up my work again at around 2 and began to finalize one of my Canva designs. One issue I am finding with Canva is it doesn’t save your work very well. As I have had entire templates deleted because I did not pay for the premium version. Luckily it has been saving recently and I am hoping to finalize my first design very soon. I finished working around 5 PM and called it a day. A total of 6 hours today. Bringing my total to 36 hours!

Day 7

Day Seven: Today was an extremely busy day for me. I woke up at around 9. But because of my recent operation, I was not ready to eat breakfast until around 10. After I ate, I then watched some film until 12 when I needed to leave for my PT. After an hour of PT, I was on the road driving to the final lacrosse game of the season against KUA. Though we lost, it was great seeing all the guys and they put up a hard fight. I didn’t get back home until 7 Pm. Once I was home, I worked from seven to eleven on film and Canva. But because I worked so late, I was exhausted and did not post my blog in time. This is why I am posting now, at around two pm the next day. Sorry for the late post. On day six I got 6 hours of work done, bringing my total to 30 hours!

Day 6

Day Six 5 PM: Today is May 16th, which is the last day of recovery before I return to doing my usual hours and objectives. I am no longer feeling sick, and have been given a good amount of time for my body to rest and recover. I am excited to get back to work, as I have some new ideas I want to give a try on Canva. I also look forward to watching some more films, as I need to get some more games done. Overall, returning to senior project work will give me something useful to do with my time, and I am excited to get back to work! The total hours I have missed due to being sick and recovering from surgery are: Friday (6 hours), Saturday (6 hours), Monday (6 hours), and Tuesday (6 hours). Which comes to a total of 24 missed hours.

Weekly Review 1

Image
Weekly Review: I am writing this week’s review on Tuesday, May 16th. I have taken the last few days to recover from my surgery and will begin working again tomorrow. This week flew by for me. For starters, I have enjoyed watching the film I started with. Football is something that I love and I enjoy talking about it, watching it, and researching it. I have only done one game so far, but I am planning on finishing a lot more games in the upcoming week as I am able to get back to work post-operation.  I have also added another fun task I have been working on so far. When I talked to my mentor Ben Rulli, we discussed also attempting to create Canva designs for edits for the football team that could be used for the upcoming season. I have been looking into it a lot on many professional teams, and have begun to attempt to create these for Proctor Football as well. Though I am not very familiar with designing these types of edits, I am getting better and hope to have one or two ready to show

Day 5

Day Five: Today is Friday, the day I will drive down to New York and get my surgery in the early morning tomorrow. I am not going to be able to do any work today, but I will still be scrolling my social media looking for more ideas for Canva designs I could use. I won’t be active again until Tuesday so wish me luck!

Day 4

Day Four 4:30: Today I got up at 8:30 so I could start my work at 8:45. I am leaving for New York for my surgery and needed to get my hours done earlier today. I worked right through lunch working on some Canva designs. I then finished up the first game of film mostly. And I am now waiting on my Mentor Ben Rulli to check to see if I am doing it right. I then worked until around 3. Before I left to go get ready to have surgery tomorrow. I will not be writing a blog tomorrow so sorry about that! Today's total hours are around 6 hours again!

Day 3

Image
Day Three 6:30 Pm: I woke up at 9 again today. I began working at around 9:15 as I ate breakfast as I worked. I wanted to look at some other designs people in the football world used. So I scrolled through Twitter accounts such as Notre Dame’s Football page, Alabama’s Football page, and the New York Giants football page. Many of their designs were pretty simple and I took a few pointers from their designs. I also think they use a much better app them Canva, but I am going to just stick it out with Canva. I researched and worked on my design for about three hours before I went in for lunch. After lunch, I watched some film and got around halfway through the first game. It is taking me a long time right now, but I hope to get faster the more I do it. Overall, I worked from 9:15 to around 12:30, and then from 1 to around 3:45. A total of around 6 hours of work.

Day 2

Day Two 5:30: I woke up at around 9 today. I began working at 9:30 and had a couple goals for the day. After talking to my mentor Ben Rulli. I decided today I would learn more about Hudl, but I would also take a look at Canva. He proposed the idea of making media for the football team, and I figured I might as well take a shot at it. I had never used Canva so it was definitely something new that I needed to get the hang of. By the end of the day, I had completed a starter design for a canvas. I have also looked at some films and studied the playbook to correctly identify plays. I worked today from around 9:30 to 12:30. As well as 1-4. A total of 6 hours.

Day 1

Image
Day 1, 3:30 PM : I began my day by waking up at around 8:15. I was showered and done eating by 8:45, and was ready to begin my senior project for the first time. I began by texting and scheduling my meeting with my mentor Ben Rulli. It was going to be at around lunchtime and I had some free time to begin researching how to watch and study film properly. I took some notes from a number of youtube channels and professionals. Whose job was to review prospects and watch how they broke down film. I did this for almost two hours before Rulli was able to call me. We then talked for around an hour before I took my lunch break. Then, with the new information and access to film provided by Rulli. I was able to begin planning my film study. I organized the film into different games and organized a key to help me determine plays and formation. I did a preview of the film of our first game before I had to log off for the day to go to our varsity lacrosse game. I worked a total of around 6 hours t
